Beta Engineering is currently looking for an Electrical Engineer Manager to join their team in Pineville, Louisiana. Electrical Engineering Managers (EEMs) are supervisors of multiple Electrical Engineer Team Leaders (EETL), Electrical Engineers (EE) and Electrical Engineering Technicians (EET) overseeing the design, interpretation, application and documentation of drawings, schematics and diagrams.  The EEM is tasked with ensuring that the Electrical Engineering Department’s designs, and applications, are completed to code and standards set forth by the appropriate authoritative bodies.  In addition, EEMs are responsible for the training, recruiting, hiring, scheduling, assigning and discipline of EETLs, EEs and EETs under their supervision.

  • Responsible for all electrical engineering design and activities
  • Delegates engineering responsibilities and activities within the EE department
  • Manages the design and checking processes of multiple teams
  • Ensures training and development of EETLs, EEs and EETs
  • Maintains design standards and training guidelines
  • Resolves issues between design teams and departments
  • Ensures technical questions posed by construction managers, field staff, project managers, customers and their representatives are addressed
  • Recognizes and recommends methods to improve every customer’s experience
  • Travels periodically to customer offices for project meetings, to job sites for construction visits and as necessary to perform managerial responsibilities with remote employees
  • Performs bi-yearly evaluations on all employees reporting to them
  • The Electrical Engineering Manager will have multiple employees reporting to this position.
  • Coordinates the scheduling of employee PTO
  • Recruits, hires and trains new engineers
  • Provides input on organizational structure, employee performance, continuing education, employee development and disciplinary actions
  • Enforces discipline policies within department
  • Assures department and themselves adhere to and practice the Beta core competencies and Beta principle


  • Bachelor degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering is required
  • PE is required
  • Previous design experience in substation design, equipment specification, AC/DC power design, communication design, protection and control design and relay coordination for high voltage substations is required
  • Previous supervisory experience is required
  • Strong background in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required; strong verbal and written communication skills are required
  • Knowledge of all or some of the following applications are preferred: AutoCAD, Microstation, CDEGS grounding software, AcSELerator Quickset, Enervista, CYMCAP, SKM, LitePro, ETAP
