MISSION / SUMMARY: The Preventive Maintenance Supervisor position is critical to ensuring proper lubrication application for all equipment in the Pulpmill and Powerhouse. The equipment responsibility includes boilers, turbines, continuous digesters, evaporators/concentrators, lime kilns and associated equipment.

JOB FUNCTION: Job functions include but are not limited to the following.

  • Responsible to communicate with operations and maintenance for efficient preventive maintenance work and outage job planning, work scheduling and execution to optimize equipment lubrication.
  • Use engineering principles to accurately scope jobs that will increase overall equipment reliability and investigate the feasibility of redesigning systems where we are having reoccurring reliability problems.
  • Assist the failure analysis effort by helping implement corrective actions that are needed to prevent reoccurrence of equipment failures.
  • As part of the key management team will be required to perform rotating weekend maintenance on-call duty for the Pulpmill & Powerhouse areas.
  • Lead and manage the planning and scheduling for daily work and monthly outages for preventive maintenance personnel for the Pulpmill & Powerhouse areas.
  • Work with mechanical maintenance planners to gain concurrence on plan details (schedule, manpower, tools, special consideration, etc.). Implement PM schedules into the mechanical Microsoft Project schedule.
  • Utilize predictive data (vibration reports, oil analysis, etc) to set priority for outage work.
  • Prior to outage day, coordinate clearly with operations and technicians the job plans, time estimates, resource requirements, any safety hazards present, and communicate any need for special permits.

  • Assure proper level of feedback from technicians on completed jobs.
  • Assist the failure analysis effort by helping implement corrective actions that are needed to prevent reoccurrence of equipment failures.


Required Skills

BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE:

  • 3 years related industrial maintenance experience with a BS degree or a high school diploma with 7 years related industrial maintenance experience with a high school diploma.
  • 3 years maintenance supervision experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with industrial lubrication products and programs preferred.

EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE:

  • BS degree in engineering preferred or equivalent experience.

SPECIFIC SKILLS:

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software and a CMMS system preferably SAP.
  • Utilize SAP for the creation of task lists to assist in job planning.

SCHEDULE DEMANDS:

  • General schedule is an 8-hour M-F assignment, however, employee must be willing to work alternate schedules occasionally; that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends and be punctual while doing so.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Sitting or standing for extended periods of time up to 12-hours.
  • Occasional Lifting up to 20 lbs.
  • Reading computer screen or other electronic devices.
  • Use of various office hand and electrical tools or equipment.
