Title: Supervisor, Quality & SQF

Position Purpose: Position is responsible for the leading all activities and functions driven towards execution of an effective Quality System. Directs activities of suppliers, production and customers to resolve quality problems and continuously improve the level of quality. Represents company at customer locations, evaluating and resolving technical issues. Acts as the SQF Practitioner and liaison between the Food Safety Systems and facility leadership.

Principle Functional Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for execution of an effective closed-loop quality system driven to reduce process variation.
  • Maintain product specifications.
  • Maintain supplier Certificate of Analysis (COA)
  • Maintain calibration of testing equipment.
  • Maintain customer complaint data and metrics.
  • Interacts with the external customer/s (VOC).
  • Acts as change agent to drive continuous improvement of production and service processes to improve quality and increase efficiency.
  • Maintain all aspects SQF (Safety Quality Food) program for the facility to include Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) management system.
  • Maintains pest control plan, record and performs audit to ensure effectiveness.
  • Maintain SQF compliance as it relates to plant housekeeping.
  • Fully versed in analytical and statistical applications that support quality such as Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Statistical Quality Control (SQC).
  • Implements quality plans and procedures by overseeing inspection testing requirements, frequency, responsibility and methods to assure compliance to process and product specifications.
  • Develops, recommends and implements operating policies and ensures application of such policies.
  • Drive plant accountabilities in the areas of tracking vendor performance, resolution and disposition of customer complaints, investigating critical quality defects on in-processed and finished products, generation and analysis of quality data and reports.
  • Implements practices and controls to drive an effective supplier management system.

Desired Background:

  • Prior folding carton or printing experience preferred.
  • 3-5 years’ experience with SQF certification.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Outlook.
  • Experience in implementation of technical testing in production environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to lead others and deliver results.

Education:

  • 5-7 years’ experience in a managerial or leadership role.
