Work Scope:
The GCC Area Production Manager WS 1 is responsible for all project field operations on a single project and/or may have oversight of an area of work on a single project

  • In partnership with the Project Manager, assumes full responsibility for the on-time completion of the project within the final project budget and schedule while maintaining the Company's high standards of safety, quality, and customer satisfaction and employee growth

  • Under the close guidance of the Project Manager, leads the initial preconstruction planning efforts prior to mobilization

  • Once in the field, leads the operation planning process to include the development of detailed, engineered work plans for all field teams

  • Leads the execution of work plans, and ensures successful work operations through mentoring and supporting field managers

  • Responsible for controlling production flow across the project through the use of Weekly Work Plans and Lookahead Schedules. Verifies phase code quantities are correct at the end-of-shift each day

  • Reviews end-of-shift results, on a daily basis with field teams and makes adjustments in the field, as needed, to achieve labor manhour and equipment hour targets as well as cost budgets

  • Reviews project percent plan complete (PPC) results with field teams and identifies challenges and solutions to achieve or exceed 100% PPC

  • Works with the Project Manger to conduct a month-end review of each phase of work on the project to ensure quantities are correct, and that GCC quantities align with customer records and meet estimate requirements

  • Meets and/or exceeds project safety, quality and profit goals

  • Works to ensure GCC has strong crews/teams at all levels of the project and promotes and champions the company's vision to be the Leader in Safety, Quality, Innovation, and Efficiency

  • Leads by example, is always professional and always in line with the company's values of Fair and Ethical Success. Leads the project field teams to identify, minimize, and eliminate risks associated with project activities

  • Works with project teams to establish project safety goals; leads the effort to achieve and celebrate safety goals

  • Has an excellent understanding of OSHA and company safety requirements

  • Has a valid drivers' license and is approved to drive company vehicles. Participates in the project risk assessment process during the procurement process

  • Works with the Project Manager and project team members to carry this forward through a monthly assessment of project risk factors relative to safety, quality, innovation & workforce, and productivity & efficiency

  • Identifies and deploys opportunities to mitigate or eliminate risk; monitors and track progress and trends

  • Possesses a basic knowledge of construction methods and procedures

  • Ability to review, understand and communicate project plans and specifications to the project team

  • Ensures project is constructed and paid for according to plans and specifications

  • Has a basic knowledge of estimating

  • Assists Senior Management in accurately estimating cost to complete each month. Possesses basic knowledge of project planning, administration, reporting and forecasting

  • Has a basic understanding of the following computer software: Oracle Primavera for scheduling, Oracle Prime for planning, HCSS Heavy Bid, Viewpoint, and Pvault

  • Has basic knowledge of Microsoft Applications (i.e.: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams)

  • Ability to review, understand and communicate information from project schedules and cost reports to the project team. The GCC Area Production Manager will be a student and a teacher

  • Seeks knowledge, with a culture of continual learning, though all available resources, including industry and professional associations

  • Serves as a mentor and a coach to other team members. Has a basic understanding of the GCC Performance Management and Salary Administration processes and can lead the project team in applying these processes on a daily basis

  • Works toward continuous professional development through individual development planning

  • Mentors, coaches and helps to develop project team members. Has oversight of multiple Field Managers

  • Ability to recognize and analyze problems, make recommendations and take action to solve problems prior to adverse project impact.

Work Environment: Outdoor


Physical Requirements:
Prolonged driving on a regular basis. Lift up to 25 lbs. regularly, and up to 75 lbs. occasionally. Ability to work in extreme weather conditions (heat and cold). See attached Physical Requirements Inventory.


Education Guidelines: HS Diploma or equivalent preferred

Experience Guidelines: 5+ years construction experience, 2+ years in a project leadership role, and demonstrated leadership skills.

Knowledge Guidelines: Must possess a valid drivers' license and be approved to drive company vehicles. Basic knowledge of estimating. Must have a basic knowledge of, or is in the process of training on the following computer software programs: Primavera for scheduling, Viewpoint, HCSS Heavy Job, and Pvault. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Applications (i.e.: Excel, Word, and Outlook) is required.
