Job Summary:

A Master Scheduler develops, analyzes, implements and updates key event and critical path schedules and networks to meet the needs of the contracts and company goals.  The Master Schedule works closely with the Program Management Office (PMO) and the Finance Analysts to ensure the schedule is prepared to develop the Contract Performance Report (CPR).  The schedules, networks, and reports must be implemented in accordance with program proposals, product orders, and customer requests. In addition, scheduling will be compliant with US Government Earned Value Management standards and directives.

The US Navy Ship to Shore Connector is an ACAT I program for construction of 73 air cushion vehicles replacing the Landing Craft Air Cushion (LCAC) vessel.  Textron Systems Marine & Land Systems is the prime contractor for SSC.  The FY17-20 production contract is for construction of 15 SSC craft and is a complex contract including FPI-F, FFP, CPFF, and other contract types with a total value of $0.8 – 1.0B.  This contract has DFARS EVMS requirements including IPMR CDRL reporting.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the program’s Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) for monthly release to the customers using Primavera Project Manager (P6).
  • Receive and input status updates from Control Account Managers (CAMs) into the IMS.
  • Work with CAMs, team leads, and managers to coordinate updates and support schedule variance reporting.
  • Ensure weekly and month end reports on the status and variance of the IMS using earned value management (EVM) principles are provided to the team.
  • Maintain the schedule portion of Performance Measurement Baselines.
  • Ensure the proper documentation and implementation of program schedule change controls such as Baseline Change Requests (BCRs).
  • Work with CAMs, team leads, and managers to coordinate updates and support schedule variance reporting.
  • Monitor, record and report activities on the Program Critical Path.
  • Knowledge of Schedule Risk Assessment (SRA) concepts
  • Serves as team leader to other schedulers.
  • Researches and analyzes solution or alternatives to problems that arises.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of departmental methodology and procedures for documentation purposes.
  • Ensure that customer needs are met based on the required deadlines or critical schedule dates.
  • Train other schedulers to serve as a backup, as required.
  • Generates, updates, and communicates status on all schedules.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.


Education:

BS degree in Industrial Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.


Position Requirements:

  • Ten (10) plus years of scheduling and related experience in a manufacturing or Production environment.
  • Previous shipbuilding industry experience is highly desired.
  • Experience in Critical Path Management (CPM) and solid knowledge of the Planning and Scheduling Excellence Guide (PASEG).
  • Experience utilizing Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of cost and schedule project management systems.
  • Must be proficient in MS Suite software including Access, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc
  • Must possess the ability to interface effectively and efficiently across the organization.
  • Experience working in an MRP/ERP environment (SAP, Oracle, MAPICS, BAAN, etc.) helpful.
  • Project Management Professional certification is preferred.
